  Do You Think The Witnesses Actually Know What They Believe In?

  i think they know what they don't believe in, like no blood, no hellfire, no trinity....but they really couldn't explain what their beliefs are and why they believe as they do.

  The section on the way the Governing body handled his judicial comittee was eerie. So like the crap that happened in my hall. No one knew who was accusing of who when we had comittees with people, There was so much trumped up garbage going on and pre-judgement it was one reason I left. I'm sorry he had to go through that but if he didn't then his wonderful book might not have been written.

  Are Elders given back ground checks before appointment?

  i'm researching a few things, and i'm wondering: are elders ever put through a back ground check either before or after their appointment as an elder?.

  They have the BEST background check you can have! They ask the brother before it is announced if there is any reason he should not be appointed, ie: secret sins etc. Now how could that go wrong?

  the wife and i found out today she is preggo!

  we aren't going to share the blessed news with family until the end of the first trimester later this year...if we can hold out and keep it a secret until then.

  If you want to invite them and really want them to come and can handle the snub if they don't, go ahead. If not, move on. Pretty simple I'd say.

  a few of my pet peeves were:.

  the po/cobe knowing that he needed to have an elders meeting after the meeting but not telling any other elders.

  For me it was the dynamic in the body of elders, the older guys, 80's were yes men to the younger and more demonstrative types, the PO and the Service Committee. They ran the joint. Everyone else had to fight to get any input. That's when it became very unmanagable. There were sides. This made it hell because I wasn't on the popular side. There was so much petty jealousy that it became stupid to stick with it. Everything the Bible condemns was there, nepotism, simony and just plain idiocy.

  Rod, like a film of cream on top of rancid milk it all seems so attractive. Just dont drink too deeply without a bucket to purge in. Always keep the stake of reality handy to pierce the heart of this life sucking vampire of a corporation. All the best.

  i said "i try not to visit him, you will have to ask him yourself.
